Feel it. Breathe it out. Come back to calm.
Steady was created so boys 10+ can connect with what's really going on inside, release the pressure they've been holding, and learn how to calm themselves in the moment they feel like they want to explode.

Welcome to Steady
Created with purpose by a grandmother and grandson.
Steady began with something simple: conversations between a grandmother and her grandson.
I'm Ama, and being a grandmother has given me the chance to see life from a different perspective. As Tyree began growing from a boy into a young man, I found myself thinking about the things I wanted him to understand — not just the things he would learn in school, but the things that would help shape the man he becomes.
- How to handle pressure.
- How to understand his emotions without being controlled by them.
- How to make good decisions when no one is watching.
- How to treat people with respect while still respecting himself.
- How to speak up.
- How to calm down.
- How to recover from mistakes.
- How to know when to stand firm and when to walk away.
- How to become confident without feeling like he has to prove himself to everyone around him.
- And most importantly, that strength does not mean carrying everything alone.
But I didn't want Steady to be something I simply created for Tyree. I wanted to create it with him.
I brought the perspective of a grandmother who has lived through many seasons of life, raised a family, experienced setbacks and victories, made mistakes, learned lessons, and understands that becoming a strong man involves far more than what the world can see on the outside.
Tyree brought something just as important: the perspective of a young man growing up in today's world. His generation. His experiences. His questions. His perspective. His voice.
Together, those two perspectives became Steady.
From Our Journey to Yours
Steady is a private space created for boys ages 10+ to slow down, clear their minds, understand what they are feeling, and develop the inner strength they will carry into adulthood.
Through meditation, prayer, breathing exercises, reflection, journaling, practical life lessons, and tools for handling real situations, Steady helps young men work through stress, anger, frustration, disappointment, pressure, uncertainty, and change.
But Steady is about more than difficult emotions. It's about character, responsibility, confidence, self-control, purpose, respect, and learning how to make decisions that move your life in the right direction.
Because growing into a man does not happen all at once. There will be moments when you feel strong, moments when you feel unsure, times when you make the right decision, and times when you have to learn from the wrong one. All of it is part of becoming.
A Note From Ama
Tyree, one day you will be a grown man. You will make your own decisions, choose your own path, build relationships, experience success, face disappointments, and create a life that belongs to you. I won't always be able to stand beside you when those decisions come. So there are a few things I hope you carry with you.
- Know who you are.
- Control what you can control.
- Think before you react.
- Keep your word.
- Respect yourself and others.
- Don't confuse anger with strength.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions.
- Learn from your mistakes.
- Protect your peace.
- Choose your friends carefully.
- And when life knocks you off balance, find your footing and keep going.
You do not have to know everything. You do not have to be perfect. You do not have to pretend that nothing affects you. Real strength is learning how to face what life brings without losing yourself in the process.
Steady is one of the ways I can leave those lessons with you. And somewhere, another parent, grandparent, guardian, or mentor may be looking for a way to help a young man they love navigate these same years. So we decided to share our journey with them, too.
From one grandmother and grandson to another family, welcome to Steady.
Calm Mind. Strong Heart. Clear Direction.
With love,
Ama & Tyree
“Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.”
Who it's for
Boys 10+ who carry more than they say out loud: the pressure of school, sports, friendships, family and expectation.
What it is
A pocket Steady kit: guided meditations in a real voice, prayers, breathing cycles, a mood check-in, an audio journal, and quests you do with your dad, mom or siblings.
Why it exists
Because nobody teaches young men what to do with the feeling right before they explode. This gives them somewhere to put it, and a way to come back down.
Use Steady alongside your teen
Steady is not a replacement for your relationship — it is a bridge. The meditations, prayers, check-ins, and quests are designed to open the door to honest conversations and calmer moments between you and your son.
Start together
Sit with your teen for the first meditation or prayer. Your presence says this matters.
Talk after
Ask one open question: “What came up for you?” No fixing, just listening.
Pick a quest
Dad & Son, Mom & Son, or Sibling quests build trust through small shared wins.
Make it steady
A few minutes a day beats a long session once a month. Build the habit together.
No judgment, no lectures, no pretending you're fine. Just a few honest minutes at a time: a breath, a prayer, a voice note, a quest with someone who loves you, until calming yourself stops feeling like a skill you don't have and starts feeling like something you own.
